You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today. - Abraham Lincoln
As 2019 came to a close and 2020 has begun, the annual New Year’s look-back came across our social timelines showing thousands of triumphs & tragedies, successes & failures, and other stories of pride, pain & growth that our friends and families have experienced over the past year, and due to the milestone that is 2020, over the past decade. In 2010, I was about to turn 22 years old and college graduation was around the corner – Go SHU Pioneers!. Fast forward 10 years, with a Masters Degree, a Mortgage Career, an actual Mortgage, and a beautiful Fiance (Hey Veronica 😊), my life has grown into what it is today through a series of spectacular events.
That all said, this initial post is not about looking back, but rather looking forward and planning out the next year, and the next 10 years to make them what we want them to be. Honest Abe’s quote above is about just that to me. Tomorrow will be here, and we want to put ourselves in the position to handle and excel through the responsibilities that will challenge us.
My hope in this space is to help navigate the goal & responsibility that is home-ownership. It is a hard-earned goal, that means many things to many people. For some it is a financial responsibility, properly securing a financial future. To others, it may be a personal responsibility to create a home for their family and beyond. It is often both of these and of the utmost importance to have the plan and knowledge to approach it well.
If you are planning to embrace this responsibility – you want to buy a home, plan to pay off your debt, or even just want to try and save a few bucks or get some advice - check into this blog periodically. I am looking to get you the information you need to know. I will be adding blog posts, video and of course even more #TiedayFriday to come. Thanks for reading, and I hope everyone has an incredible 2020!!
